"I'm My Own Grandpa"

We had an interesting conversation at dinner this evening...

It started out as Brooke's comment on how many cousins one of her friends has...

Then turned into a discussion of 1st cousins, 2nd cousins, and 1st cousins once removed...

Then sparked a memory Vince had of an old song he used to know from the radio program, "Dr. Demento"...

The weird thing is, if you go through this song step by step, the conclusion is accurate!

In the family history research I am doing I have found that a cluster of families in this little village in New York intermarried in several generations over about a forty-year range of time. Kind of reminds me of one of my favorite LM Montgomery books: "A Tangled Web."

Real life is way more complicated and funny than fiction anyway!
